š”Give yourself a pat on the back for making it through the first week of 2021!
It may be easy to lose the motivation you feel early in the year, but one way to maintain that motivation can be physical activities.
Exercising not only impacts your physical health, but it can also benefit your psychological wellbeing. Exercise encourages oxygen to travel up towards the brain which helps release endorphins, removing physical and mental stresses and leaving you energized and attentive.
Weather it be yoga, running, a team sport or something as simple as stretching for 30-60 minutes each day, you can benefit from physical exercise that can improve your health, mind-set, and mood.
Below are a few exercises that you can incorporate into your daily routine!
1. Bicycle
If you have an indoor bicycle that would be great, but if not, you can still work out your core at home.
Start by lying flat on your back with your knees bent and feet in the air. Place your hands behind your head for support and begin pumping your legs in a bicycle motion. Try to keep this up for 1 minute without stopping!
2. Calf Raises
Start by facing the wall. Place your hands in front for balance. Rise onto your toes and back down. Repeat this for 15-20 times.
If you are looking for a challenge, give your kids a piggyback ride to add on extra resistance for yourself.
3. Jumping Jacks
Simple but a classic that keeps your heart rate up. Make sure to raise your hands high above your head each time. Keep going for 20-30 times.
